Field Trip FAQs
General Questions
Your meet up location will be included in your ticket information.

If you wish to meet at the day's destination rather than at the meet up location, please let us know ahead of time.
It is advised to dress for a variety of weather conditions.
Sun protection such as sunscreen, hat, and lightweight, breathable clothing
A raincoat and hiking shoes are strongly advised
Depending on the time of year of your field trip, you may wish to bring cold weather clothes such as a heavy jacket, hat and gloves.
A packed lunch and any snacks you wish to have for the day

In order to make things simpler, we carpool as much as possible so please be prepared to ride with a new friend or drive if you have space for several folks.
If transportation is included, that information will be provided in advance.
You are responsible for your own accommodations for the field trips unless otherwise stated.
Participants are responsible for their own food during the field trips. We take a ~30-minute lunch break with restrooms and picnic tables. Feel free to snack during the day as needed. You should bring a water bottle with you. Please keep yourself hydrated and energized. Geologizing takes energy!
If there are places to eat in the area we are exploring, that information will be provided in the trip details.
The trips will run no matter the weather.

If the conditions are dangerous, the trip will be cancelled and all participants refunded.
If the trip is rescheduled, you can either attend on the rescheduled date or receive a refund.
If the field trip includes hikes or other activities that exceed your physical limit or comfort level, you can opt out of those specific activities during the trip.

Field trips begin at the overlook next to the Twin Falls Visitor Center.
