About the event

Enjoy a full day of fascinating geology as we transect the transition zone between the undeformed layered rocks of the Colorado Plateau province and the extended Basin and Range province. We will observe rocks spanning a whopping 1.8 billion years, including a visit to the Great Unconformity.

Trip includes several short hikes up to 0.5 miles round trip with minimal elevation gain on rocky terrain. Participants should bring a sack lunch, snacks, water, and appropriate clothing/footwear each day. We will organize a carpool at the meeting point.
