About the event

Explore the fantastic geologic features of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, one of the most scenic and geologically rich areas of the western U.S.

Trip stops include The Cockscomb (or East Kaibab Monocline), one of the most important and striking geologic features on the Colorado Plateau along with accessible slot canyons, balanced rocks, and a beautiful arch.

Trip includes several short hikes up to 1.5 miles round trip with minimal elevation gain on sandy or rocky trails. Participants should bring a sack lunch, snacks, water, and appropriate clothing/footwear each day. We will organize a carpool at the meeting point.
