Meeting Point: Grapevine Trailhead, Grapevine Trail, Washington, UT 84780, USA

About the event

Investigate two of the most important and dramatic structural features in southwestern Utah, the Virgin Anticline and the Hurricane Fault. These two key structures formed during very different geologic conditions and at different times, yet left a lasting mark on the area’s geology, including regional hazards.

Trip includes several short hikes up to 0.5 miles round trip with minimal elevation gain sometimes on irregular terrain. Participants should bring a sack lunch, snacks, water, and appropriate clothing/footwear each day. We will organize a carpool at the meeting point.
