About the event
Journey to the Snake River Plain’s youngest and most impressive volcanic region, Craters of the Moon National Monument. We will use various short trails in the monument to investigate a variety of captivating volcanic features. Some trails are paved, some are gravel, and some are over irregular terrain. One excursion takes us through a partially collapsed lava tube with rocky footing. No hike is more than 2 miles round trip. Bring your own lunch. Dogs are discouraged. Please dress for a variety of weather conditions and bring plenty of water.
